Marma Chikitsa is an ancient Indian Healing tradition. Marma are subtle energy points in the body where Prana or consciousness, after flowing into the body, accumulates in Marma Sthana (or Marma points) and distributes to various parts of the body.
Ayurveda texts reveal that; Prana is Vayu. Vayu is responsible for movement. My finger move because of Vayu. I speak and you listen because of Vayu. It is a vehicle or a medium through which everything happens. However, while everything happens for a reason, there are also consequences of these actions. And, one of the consequences is, an increase in vayu.
Vayu causes movement. But, what if there is too much of it? I speak. What if, I don’t stop? You will feel irritated right? Something like that happens when Vayu increases. Every process or activity is blown out of proportion. Legs tremble, hands shiver, neck oscillates, sleep disturbances, snoring, are some of the examples. The opposite is also true! Constipation, rigidity in finger joints, arthritis, are some such examples.
Whatever the symptom may be, Marma Chikitsa helps to a great degree in alleviating pain and suffering and restores calm in the mind and heals the body.

When Prana accumulates and stagnates in particular places in the body, that's when symptoms manifest. These symptoms begin as small discomforts and over time, progressively manifest as symptoms, some of which may become chronic and even irreversible.
That's why it becomes important and necessary to take Marma Chikitsa therapy sessions periodically so that, you can release any redundant or stagnant energies that have accumulated in your body.
